The Vortex Truck

Does it matter what kind of truck and equipment a company uses? Are all truck-mounts created equal? It really does make a difference for the customer what kind of truck pulls up to your home or business to do carpet cleaning. With carpet cleaning, a handful of variables determine the job quality. The equipment being used is most definitely one of them! Why? Water temperature and suction.

 Water Temperature

When carpet cleaning, the hotter the water, the easier it is to clean. Of course a cleaner needs to know what to limit the heat to depending on the material being cleaned. For most truck-mounts this is not a problem, they usually cant generate enough heat to damage the most sensitive materials like wool. It is safe however, to use VERY hot temperatures on many common materials, and the Vortex produces alot of heat! The Vortex uses multiple heat exchangers that make use of the engine temperature and the exhaust heat. It is important to produce alot of heat because you lose considerable heat from the truck to the jets on the wand 150 feet away. In the cold winter this is even more of a problem. The average van with a truck-mount is not going to be able to compete with the Vortex.

 Suction

What benefit is there for the customer if a truck has a huge blower motor? Faster dry time and cleaner carpet. By sucking up more of the water, the carpet will obviously dry faster. We have had customers tell us that they have had 8 to 24 hour dry times with the cleaners they have used before. With the Vortex, 2 to 4 hour dry time is a welcome benefit. But the real benefit is cleaner carpet. How so? Remember, a carpet cleaner is sucking up dirty water, so the longer it takes to dry the more dirty water was left behind by the operator. The blower on the Vortex is the largest in the industry (as seen below on the far right), you just cant fit this equipment in a van.

These are some of the pros of operating a Vortex that the customer directly benefits from. We love the equipment we use, and though it is quite a financial investment, we have never regretted it!
